1. Standard

Our standard AeroPress recipe is simple and speedy, providing a full bodied coffee with prominent fruit flavor and vibrant sweetness; all in under 2 minutes.

2. Inverted

The inverted preparation is a full immersion technique, more similar to that of a french press, which highlights a coffee’s pleasant earth characteristics and provides a dense mouthfeel.

3. Café Prep

This method will produce a larger volume of coffee, more similar to what you would order in a cafe setting; additionally this preparation showcases a coffees complexity and provide a greater balance of sweetness and acidity.


STANDARD 

GEAR

PREP

1. Fill your kettle with 0.5 liters of water and bring to a boil
2. Weigh 15 grams of coffee and grind at a medium-fine setting
3. Position the Aeropress brewer, filter, and carafe on the scale
4. Rinse the filter thoroughly and discard excess water
5. Add your ground coffee to the brewer, shake to level, and zero out the scale

BREW

1. Start the timer, and begin brewing by quickly pouring water until the scale reads 200 grams
2. Stir with spoon or flat paddle; breaking up any clumps
3. Seal the brewing chamber with the plunger
4. At 1:00, plunge slowly until all of the liquid passes through the brewer (about 20-30 seconds)
5. Remove the brewer from atop your carafe, and serve & enjoy

REVIEW

  • Brew Ratio: 15 g coffee / 200 g water
  • Grind: Medium - Fine
  • Temperature: 205°F - 210°F
  • Brew Time: ≈ 1 minute 30 seconds

INVERTED

GEAR

PREP

1. Fill your kettle with 0.5 liters of water and bring to ≈ 205°F
2. Weigh 15 grams of coffee and grind at medium-coarse setting
3. Position the Aeropress brewer in the inverted position (upside down with the plunger attached) on the scale
4. Carefully rinse the filter and cap
5. Add your ground coffee to the brewer, shake to level, and zero out the scale

BREW

1. Start the timer, and pour 200 grams of water over the coffee
2. Stir with a spoon or flat paddle; breaking up any clumps
3. Position the cap, and pre-rinsed filter, onto the brewer
4. At 1:30, flip the brewer and place it on top of your carafe/mug
5. Plunge immediately for ≈ 20-30 seconds
6. Remove the brewer from atop your carafe, and serve & enjoy

CAFÉ PREP

PREP

1. Fill your kettle with 0.5 liters of water and bring to ≈ 205°F
2. Weigh 20 grams of coffee and grind at a relatively fine setting
3. Position the Aeropress brewer in the inverted position (upside down with the plunger attached) on the scale
4. Carefully rinse the filter and cap
5. Add your ground coffee to the brewer, shake to level, and zero out the scale

BREW

1. Start the timer, and pour 200 grams of water over the coffee
2. Stir with a spoon or flat paddle; breaking up any clumps
3. Seal the brewing chamber with the plunger
4. At 1:30 remove the plunger and stir with a spoon/paddle
5. Re-insert the plunger and press down slowly to release the liquid (about 20-30 seconds)
6.Remove the brewer from atop your carafe
7. Place carafe onto the scale, zero, and add 100 grams of water
8. Serve and enjoy
